The looped sequence of compositions could therefore have served as a basis for an animated sequence, such as this one:
A sequence based on only three graphic motifs, animated and transformed by different light effects.
first movement: shadows around the blue pattern,
second movement: gleams and mists around the yellow pattern,
third movement: itinerary along the curves of the red pattern,
fourth movement: variations around the three motifs combined.
The patterns used as a basis for the sequence of the same name, here superimposed:
then a first image extracted from the video, obtained by transforming the patterns that we barely recognize here:
another image where the original patterns are more identifiable:
a play of shadows around the blue pattern:
a glow around the yellow pattern:
a stage of the journey along the curves of the red pattern:
The six movements of the sequence are entirely constructed from elements of the compositions made..... in red and black.
The animated sequence "in red and black" is built by using elements from digital compositions made on iPad. Each composition appears in its entirety for at least 1/24th of a second during the sequence; but, most of the time, some of its constituent elements mix with those of other compositions to form new images that could also have been presented as autonomous compositions.
Compositions appearing in the first movement:
In the second movement:
In the third movement:
In the fourth movement:
In the fifth movement:
In the sixth movement:
The starting point of the sequence consists of four fixed compositions already presented as such in old articles in the "drawings" section.
At the beginning of the animated sequence, most of the constituent elements of the compositions overlap to form a relatively uniform frame.
Then a first composition gradually emerges in its integrity, but for a short time because another replaces it progressively.
And so on... to a final new composition, which is built from elements of the first four and which colors undergo various transformations themselves.
After the pure geometric forms of the rectangular lines and surfaces, here is a kind of organic fabric with fleeting, changing and uncertain appearances like those of a living matter.
