The animated sequences are meant to be watched without sound accompaniment. But some may have been inspired by a musical piece, here Felix Mendelsohn opening "calm sea and prosperous voyage". The sea is the Mediterranean, and the journey is a cruise under a very bright sun and on an almost still water.

cumbre vieja
The black lava flowing from the volcano Cumbre Vieja in the Canary Islands gave me the idea for this animated sequence, based on real shots ... having nothing to do with a volcanic eruption.
in transparency
A sequence based on only four graphic elements, and full of light and transparency.
why a black triangle?
The movements are quite long in the sequence; they appear here separately to make them easier to watch.
first movement, which gives its title to the whole sequence: why this black triangle at the top left of the image? ... simply because it is the edge of the plane window from which the sun and clouds were filmed during a landing at Bari airport in June 2021.
second movement:
third movement:
... and for those who have the patience to watch the fourteen minutes of the complete sequence:
black lines on a multicoloured background
A fairly short sequence, but designed with a lot of linear drawings, all made "by hand"...
black!
Again, various variations on black solids, but here without shades of blue ....
a certain fluidity ...
Once again, lots of water, both filmed and drawn ....
red, blue, steamy, rough, aquatic ...
Some passages seem to come from live-action videos, especially for the aquatic surfaces at the beginning; but it is in fact the animation of mere drawings made by hand on Ipad...
The three basic drawings, of different textures, are sometimes coloured or illuminated in red or blue.
Each movement begins with the end of the previous movement, chronologically reversed:
first movement: the three textures follow one another fleetingly, the aquatic first and the vaporous last,
second movement: the vaporous texture dominates, with the appearance of the rough texture at the very end,
third movement: the rough texture prevails, with the appearance of the aquatic texture at the very end,
fourth movement: the aquatic texture dominates.
in red, black ... and green
Red, black and green lines intertwine in front of a background of similar colours.
Black?
Where we go back to the rectangles of various textures from the sequence "towards the horizon".
first movement: the rectangles and their drop shadows merge and separate to form different moving figures.
second movement: in a closer shot, the rectangular aspect fades and a shining point underscores the shades of blue.
third movement: the rectangles become triangles and rotate in space; then everything returns to normal ...
